New Era

Fleet Synergy International enters a new era, with strong growth plans under a new leadership.

With the approval of joint venture partners Athlon Car Lease International and Lloyds TSB Autolease, Fleet Synergy International (FSI) is implementing plans to significantly grow the business under the direction of a new General Manager, Wim Halsberghe. This will see the International Brussels based operation increase in size by over 40% in 2008.

Halsberghe, who will step up to his new role on 1st May 2008, will lead the restructuring and expansion plans that will help build on Fleet Synergy’s reputation as a leading international fleet management provider and offer benchmarking comparisons, efficiency programmes and consolidated reporting for global companies. The board is confident that, under Mr. Halsberghe’s leadership, continuing growth in sales volumes and customer service standards will be achieved.

Hans Blink, President, Athlon Car Lease International, and board member of FSI adds: “This growth opportunity means that we can focus on our international customers and have complete confidence that we can develop and manage fleet solutions that meet their changing global needs.”

On his appointment, Wim Halsberghe, comments: “This level of commitment from our shareholders is a strong vote of confidence for our existing and future business model. More importantly, it delivers a strong message to our customers and prospects as key beneficiaries from the additional resources”.

After supporting and managing Fleet Synergy for nearly 11 years, Hans Damen has taken the decision to step down from his position as CEO of Fleet Synergy International. Hans will continue his career as an independent consultant in the automotive industry.

Nigel Stead, Managing Director of Lloyds TSB Autolease and chairman of the FSI board comments: “As the key contributor and influencer of the Fleet Synergy success since 1997 we are sad to see him go, however fully support Hans Damen’s decision”. Nigel Stead continues “With Wim Halsberghe succeeding we are extremely pleased to benefit from our internal development programmes, showing great potential with the people we know so well”.
